Mordred

This illustration is the companion to this. It was an assignment where we were told to do character portraits of a protagonist and an antagonist, so I chose King Arthur and his twisted, illegitimate son Mordred. The two paintings kind of work together, so you get the idea that they’re in their final battle.

I was more comfortable with the media of coloured India ink this time and had some more fun with the background, armour and lighting. Lots of fun to work with. Here’s the two together:
